Cornell Chronicle celebrates NYYI achievements

Earlier this month, the New York Youth Institute was featured in an article by the Cornell Chronicle – Cornell University’s official news source. The article showcases the features of this year’s program that set it apart from previous years’ Institutes.

Particularly, emphasis was placed on new programming initiatives, such as an organizations fair and the establishment of a NYYI-specific blog (which you are reading now!). Additionally, Francine Jasper reflects on new opportunities enabled by the Institute’s partnership with the New York Corn and Soybean Growers Association.

A recurring theme in conversation about the 2017 Institute is its strong emphasis on inclusion. We’re proud to have hosted students from both rural and urban backgrounds, and are excited to continue nurturing partnerships with New York farmers (some of whom made a special appearance at this year’s event).

The piece in the Chronicle also celebrates the phenomenal line-up of distinguished guests, representing many angles of the global food security dialogue.
