As we gear up for the 2017 New York Youth Institute, to take place March 31st and April 1st on the Cornell University campus, we’re drawing inspiration from the successes of past Institute activities.
Last year, at the 2016 NYYI symposium, participants from across the state experienced the full spectrum of food- and agriculture-related research activities taking place right here in New York State. From Kenya’s innovations in mPesa mobile money, to domestic food branding and marketing, to fistulated dairy cows, to drone-assisted high-throughput phenotyping of corn diseases – NYYI participants learned first hand how research translates into real-world policy and food security outcomes.
